Ugh, who ever thought installer installers were a good idea? "Here is a file that will download a file that you can't put on a flash drive because it'll get deleted soon after, and you can't check it for viruses before running either"

... and which will restart your Windows shell upon running

When I write something complicated enough to need an installer I always include a zipped version of the thing with manual install instructions

and then maybe 1% of people use those

I get installers, but why installer downloaders? What's the point of downloading and running an exe file that will download and run an exe file?

Like some games that are 10GB+ have installer-downloaders to allow you to download in parts or with regulated bandwith

If it's no to 1, then flag as nc (after 5 mins) or obs (after accept). If it's no to 2 and yes to 1, then mod flag.

@Rizier123 if it's persistent badgering that you've noticed them it's probably worth flagging as we can then look at all previous comments (deleted or not) and see if it's a bigger issue rather than just a few times...

I know I reached out yesterday to a user that'd gone through all their old answers and asking for accepts - deleted about 70 such comments and asked the user to stop. So it's something we will take action on if required.

@NinjaPuppy is it bad to ask for an accept? I sometimes ask for one because a working answer has been posted (not necessarily by me) and accepting the answer would then sort-of close the post in a sense that the community knows the issue has been fixed.

Also new users asking their first question usually leave a "thank you" comment on my answer, whereupon I point out to them that they can accept it, if they want to.

While it's not unreasonable to give new users a prod if they're unfamiliar with the system regarding How does accepting an answer work? it's generally noise and frowned upon to bulk comment on previous posts asking people to accept (it looks both spammy and beggy).

No harm done - just something we'd like you to avoid doing in the future.

The other solution is only answer users with rep : ), unfortunately I think twice before I answer a user with 1 rep (the question is just hit and run)

I make sure they comment and edit there post before... no sense answering stuff that will just lay dead...

@Laith it is not a good thing to add "solved" or something to a question. It is of no relevance to the question statement, hence it does not belong there. The question should probably be deleted since it is closed as being off-topic and therefore cannot be answered. If the question would be open, the way to show that it is solved is to actually answer it, not by adding irrelevant statements to the question itself. — Adriaan 1 min ago

Every so often I see absolute garbage left up because OP undeleted it (why can they do that?) or because 6x recommend deletion is outweighed by 1x looks ok from a robo

@NathanOliver And yes we do review those. They're normally 50/50. In the vast majority of cases they appear to be "link only" - and the OP has either undeleted it and done nothing, or they've gone through and actually extended the post as per the review comments.
