yeah, you're going to miss a few sequencing tools

there are systems programming languages which have this stuff in their "small" standard libs, but a dynamic high level language with highly optimized JIT implementations didn't find these things worthy adding and libs are scarce. great

so you are returning the code via php to the client side

yep and in general also an response object with some additional information like what exactly was wrong

you should always return some status code

if u are using jquery i prefer to build my .ajax with the statusCode option

BUT: fetch is only well supported by chrome and firefox. You should make sure you have implemented xhr aswell
