@TonyTheLion on my very first gig I requested to get a license to Borland C++ (I think it was 5/6-ish around that time) - on the sole reason that I had the most experience with Borland IDEs (not necessarily C++, though).

That was the moment I learned that there are times to prefer MSVC and also that Borland didn't take to the windows too well - a bit like WordPerfect actually

@sehe I guess I was about the only one, but I actually got along pretty well with Quick C. Had (IMO) a much cleaner graphics system, and console functions that used direct screen writing so they were drastically faster than Borland's (which used the DOS console functions).
