I'm following a tutorial and it's gradle.build is kinda wonky compared to the default one I got from the gradle init command

specifically, they do the plugins differently

I see online that there is two ways to do it, the apply() way, and the plugin { } way

hmm never mind I might have figured my issue out.. the tutorial is kind of confusing because I guess it was made during an oldschool gradle version where they didn't support the DSL plugin yet

so all of them are the apply plugin: 'id' method

but my init created the plugin { } way.. and I was trying to figure out how to translate my apply() into the plugin {} format.. and I can't really find how to do the URLs in the DSL way

apply from: 'https://raw.github.com/gretty-gradle-plugin/gretty/master/pluginScripts/gretty.plugin'

like not really sure how this translates

they have no examples w/ URLS in the DSL way on their docs

So I guess I'll just scrap the DSL way and do it the ghetto legacy way? v0v

looks like when you do apply from: 'URL' it's classified as a "plugin script"

(as opposed to a binary plugin, which can be done using the DSL)
