Hi..I want to close current activity from background.I tried finish(),finishAffinity(),singInstance=true in manifest file.my scenario is when user receieves call ringing state i have to show activity once they click on close button i need to remove it from background too.
TILT: if you swipe out an app from the recent app list, it gets killed but can receive push messages. If you go the extra effort and "force stop" the app from the app info screen, the push messages will be ignored completely: > W/GCM: broadcast intent callback: result=CANCELLED forIntent { act=com.google.android.c2dm.intent.RECEIVE flg=0x10000000 pkg=com.sample.app (has extras) }
force stop puts the app in stopped state. It is a special state which basically means it cannot do anything or react to anything at all, until the user opens it again
it is not at all the same as "killing" the app or swiping it away
