Look, you don't specialize in anything. You don't go out and learn a large variety of technology. There is no point in doing any of that. None at all. That's like buying a piano to explore how it works, what snares are in it, how the mechanisms work, what material the keys are, how the tuning works, but never playing it. When I was 13

I decided I wanted to write a litttle php app for my friends at school to post messages to.

You know what I did? I watched some youtube videos for a bit, coded along with it, read some stack overflow articles.

And do you know what I had by the end of the day?

A little php message board for me and my friends to use at school.

It was terribly insecure, didn't have any interesting features, and it stored all the messages in a long, text file.

But it worked.

And now, 7 years later. I have a paying job writing c#
