I'm going to start revising mine in a few days; it's relatively current. I want there to be at least one day where I'm just not doing anything work-related.
@Ffisegydd I learned that recruiters ask for word documents because they re-write it and send it in what they think will give you more of a chance at getting the interview.
Doesn't matter too much if you end up going through an agency - I once applied to a job and found in the interview that the agent had taken my F***ING BEAUTIFUL LATEX PDF CV and copied/pasted into Word, then messed up some of the info.
He actually removed my phone number/email so they couldn't contact me, and also accidentally broke my website url. They even brought it up during the interview "btw your website ff5yerglkdng.com isn't working"
Yeah, it was a lot of fun. His GF kept saying she wants us all to go to Montreal this summer, which I am definitely in favor of, so there's a chance I'll be in your neck of the woods at some point this summer.
also, not many know this, but sharing the same kitchen is another restaurant called Liverpool House which is just as good and easier to get a reservation to
And across the street from that restaurant is a pub called The Burgundy Lion that has a very impressive Whiskey menu. And they have Whiskey tastings every couple months
@JGreenwell Funny enough. Every year around Christmas the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning host back-to-back games against the habs because of the amount of Quebec people in Florida
they make a ton of money on those games, because most if not all Quebec people there will go to the games
@idjaw I like soccer (football) the most but I'll watch hockey. Plus, the games are fun (or funny) live cause I get to see Canadians switch from the most polite people on the planet to monsters
yeah, sorry...realized not a lot of people would know what that means. When a traffic light is red, in many places you can actually still turn right if it is safe. In Montreal it is against the law
@Morgan'Venti'Thrappuccino yeah you have to be really careful when ordering whiskey's. Luckily a lot of waiters/waitresses warn you if you happen to pick something really expensive
Seems far too complicated for me, not saying that I couldn't handle it but I wouldn't want to trust others. One of the most important lessons I learnt was to assume that every other driver is an idiot.
Traffic laws are weird in the US and vary a lot by state (even some variance among Highway which one would expect to be Federally regulated) - for instance ask someone from Missouri about 70 mph limits in areas where people drive at 45 mph.
@BhargavRao I hope this is not impertinent, and almost certainly conveys a lack of education my part, but I was wondering last time and this time my curiosity has got the better of me - what does H S refer to in "Bhargav H S"?
@Ffisegydd I'm surprised at the year they are having, I was expecting more but I haven't really been able to follow it to see why due to studies and work this season
@JRichardSnape H <- My great grand dads native place, (family shifted to Bangalore 95 yrs ago). S <- My dad's name. H S Bhargav <- My official name. Rao <- My family surname (missing only in me; as the birth certificate form was filled by the docs there) .. H S Bhargav Rao is my actual name
@BhargavRao Ah - got it - ta. I'm always fascinated by the different naming conventions - it's often an aid for me to be aware of them so as not to cause accidental offence.
