@CrisLuengo I've been asking a fine amount of silly questions in the C++ channel when I was a beginner. People still helped out. Although when I proceeded to post a code with a bug and ask someone to help me out on SO, I'd get -5, which is logical, cuz that question helps nobody other than me. That's what I was trying to say.

@Silidrone in this chatroom we are a little bit touchy regarding questions of people that we don't know. The reason is that there are a LOT of people trying to use rooms like this as a shortcut to avoid using the main site. And many times it has absolutely nothing to with what this room is about (i.e. matlab and octave), just because it might be one of the more active rooms.
