I haven't actively listened to music in years, but I mostly listened to Nightwish and Within Temptation (they are Dutch actually). Also Sonata Arctica before they went crap.

They said "guys, we're getting old and we have to take care of ourselves, so where changing to a lighter style". First such album was Unia, I think.

Sonata Arctica used to be power metal. Nightwish is usually called symphonic metal.

What András just mentioned is what I'd classify as light metal anyway :P

Within Temptation started goth, then who knows what, they've become a lot more pop these days, but somehow they're still great

I recently discovered Icelands Eurovision song for 2020

and cosidering I hate Eurovision and avoid it like a plague, I am very happy with that song :D

By the way, Will Ferrel made a movie about him being an Icelander participating in the eurosong festival. One of those movies I’m not included to see, but I bet it wouldn’t have come about if he hadn’t been married to a Swede.
