What was unexpected?

I only told the script to remove a single message an instead it moved 5. It remebered some messages I was going to move and moved those as well. I wasn't expecting it to remember from weeks ago

@NathanOliver Yes, selections for the manual move list are persistent. There's a confirmation message which should be stating how many messages it will be moving (although it's easy to get used to clicking-through that without double-checking). The controls in each message have a tooltip which will show how many messages are currently in the list.

Even given those, it's still easy to move more than you intend, so... There's a "U" button in the controls, which will re-select the messages from the last move. You can use that as the first part of undoing a manual move by moving the re-selected messages back from the original destination room. From clicking "U", you can add or remove messages from the list to get down to what you want to move back.

The SOCVR regulars till February 2015 were involved in the closing of almost 10% of closed questions since the room existence, if I got this SEDE Query right. If I can scrape the chat transcript once again to get all userids I might update that query.

Quick plagiarism in answers question if I may. I've come across a new user (which I won't identify to stay within room rules) who has posted 6 answers since joining 2 days ago, 5 of which are completely identical to existing answers except for some added comments on a couple of answers, and the fact they've badly formatted.

Would you a) mod flag one with all the details b) mod flag them individually, c) ignore them if there is original comments, even if the code in the answers has been plagiarised?

@DavidBuck I'd mod flag one and link to all of them using shortlinks (use the "share" link under each post) so that you can fit them all in

be sure to explain in the mod flag that these are identical to existing answers

and downvote for sure if they display a lack of effort or research (even a lack of checking to make sure the answer hasn't been given)

@DavidBuck Are they plagiarizing their own code, or is the code from somewhere else. In the first case you should comment that they should flag/vote to close as a dupe. For the latter mod flag and give links

historically mods waffled a bit on this but I think lately they're more aligned in deleting obvious low-quality copy-and-change-some-stuff answers

@DavidBuck If you are going to mention different details about each answer then flag them separately. If they all share the same problem then flag one and link others in the flag message

@DavidBuck BTW: The short link can be reduced to [1](/a/123456), given that you don't need the protocol or the domain. Using just the minimum will let you fit more links in.

@NathanOliver Plagiarising other people's answers. I commented on one yesterday and downvoted because its code was identical to part of an answer from January, but only just spotted that this was a pattern of posting code-identical answers.

Assuming that a mod gets around to them. I've already got 3 plagiarism flags outstanding. Oldest is 9 days

@Dharman I'd assume that just giving the answer IDs makes the mod's job way harder, so if you can fit the links, that will probably be better.

I am actually not sure if markdown is fully supported in mod messages

@DavidBuck Yeah, you could be in for a month or two wait. Hopefully the election will help with that eventually

@Dharman I don't know about mod-messages, but Markdown, at least links, appear to render properly when I'm looking at custom flags I've raised in my list of flags. I believe we've previously had it confirmed that they render in the mod UI.

Isn't a different language closed as Need details or clarity?

@Scratte Either that or custom close reasons, depends on the person and how much typing they feel like doing for someone who might not be able to read it.

By the sounds of it I think it'll be easiest to raise 5 flags.

@DavidBuck Is it the sort of thing where one mod should handle all of them since it's one problem? If so I'd recommend sticking to one flag so that they can handle it more easily in the queue without stepping on each other's toes, but any mods should feel free to step in and tell me I'm wrong (or right!) on this.
