which version of English does SO prefer? Noticed they used the American spelling (use of 'Z') - I'm guessing it doesn't really matter as long as it's English and clear

Then you get a "Thanks" or "I changed my mind, forget about your effort, I asked the person I should have asked right away in the first place. They had an interesting answer, which does not fit into this comment." A bit of a Fermat touch there, too.
