@MichaelDodd it might very well be indeed, but I stick to what Bhargav once told me: don't red-flag non-English, as the mod handling the flags might not speak the language. Comment on the Q seems to back you up though.

@Sajeetharan-MSFT I don't know anything about the technology. That said: If a mod puts their (binding) CV on a question, I trust them to do that only when it is indeed off-topic. Also 'similar questions being present' is a false reason. There are lots of android questions asking 'how get dis effect in ma app', which is off-topic, and gets asked probably a dozen times a day

Actually, he has a valid question. It is because the way to change the plan was changed on Azure side and there was no documentation about it.

Likewise, the question you answered most recently should have been closed as POB

@Machavity was meant for me? I didn't mean to suggest a mod deleted it by themselves. I merely wanted to say that a mod was involved in closing it, and if a mod puts a CV on a question, it's usually for a good reason, as their votes are binding (they don't normally CV stuff from the Q etc)

Do you guys still receive notifications for chat? It's happened a couple times recently that I've been mentioned in here but no notification on regular SO pages.

I have never received notifications for chat, but that's because I always turn them off

If you don't show up in a room for 2 weeks, you stop being pingable

The exception is that moderators and employees can "superping" a user from chat regardless of whether they've been there recently (or at all).

I don't know what the timeout setting is for "active" in the room. For example, if you ping me now, I won't get a notification in the topbar on main, b/c I'm active in the chat room tab right now.

But if I leave this tab up and go look at other tabs (even SO main tabs) in my browser for a while, and I get pinged, it will show up in the topbar as a notification

Anecdotally I get them if I've not had the room focused for like 1 minute

My guess is something like 5, 10, 15 minutes of being "in" a room, but not being active in the tab, some event listener fires off to the server that I'm not actually here and need to be notified via a topbar notification

Can't it take like up to 15 minutes to see a ping from a room when you are not in it?

I don't think I've ever had a notification (from chat) that wasn't instant (but then I remain active in them)

I know I've seen at least a 10 minute delay on a chat notification

But I was not in the room when pinged

@SotiriosDelimanolis IIRC, the delay from being pinged to top-bar notification is 5 minutes, unless you've checked the "Quicker notifications" in your chat preferences tab (actual ink to yours). If you've checked that, then the delay is 1 minute (at least: caching). You don't get a top-bar notification if the ping's cleared in the room (i.e. the little in-chat ping badge goes away). You clear the ping badge by posting a message, or by clicking on it, in the room.

@Dharman OK. It's going to be a bit prior to my being able to test that config. Chrome was causing some system problems, so I killed it a while ago. I need to get to the point where I can reboot to fully fix all issues, but I'm in the middle of some other things...
