@sideshowbarker it's a pretty rough heuristic, it looks for URLs which end with -support or a few other keywords ... "body" should probably be "in body"

Is there a shorthand or script for getting the title of the question and author both linked into a message here? I've been typing out the [tag], description and pasting the link longhand.
@TetsuyaYamamoto I'm learning Mandarin (with Traditional Chinese written) so I can pick out bits and pieces from the Kanji, my wife's learning Japanese at the moment
@MichaelDodd Majority of Japanese texts uses traditional form of Chinese characters, hence the meanings are essentially same (excluding shinjitai forms). However, there are some false friends (like 'challenge' or 'home' in English).
I'm running a half marathon on Sunday and it looks like it's going to absolutely bucket it down with 40mph winds. At least I'm not going to overheat...

@YvetteColomb In general users can ask for advice how to handle a post and if you, as a moderator, don't want to cast a vote and instead wants us to chime in that is fine and kind of the purpose of this room. However, your specific example is not OK, not even if you are a mod. The room doesn't moderate meta, so asking here if a meta post is a dupe, should be closed, re-opened, flagged is not allowed. That is mentioned here in the FAQ.
@ewolden @Vega @MichaelDodd looks like spam to me. The question does not ask for it and it promotes something without disclosing the affiliation. Plus "new contributor" which is typical for spammers.
@Machavity How do we know a library is legit? I wouldn't say github shold have a permanent "release from prison" card.
@toohonestforthissite It's the sort of answer that risks a decline on a spam flag though. Poster looks unrelated, sites linked to look legit, it's NAA yes, but doesn't warrant the 100 rep penalty IMO

@MichaelDodd Well, they should read the question clearly before posting. And rep is capped at 1 anyway, so the -100 does not care much. If anything, I would expect the flag disputed, but not declined. The post deleted then without penalty unless there will be a second flag for another post. If there is only a single spam flag. Otherwise: community rulez

Is this answer worth a modflag? I know I linked to a comment on it, but that's because that tells the reason: they literally copied a comment of mine, without any explanation whatsoever, since the OP acknowledged it works.
@Mast because I wasn't sure what the OP was after, hence all the comments on the question, as it's still vague to me what the y parameter does. I went out after posting that comment, so didn't see the OPs reply confirming this is what they're after.

@Adriaan IIRC we flagged such answer because they don't have any value for future readers ("Try this code" is just a filler imo, what else should one do with posted code - eat it?;-). Btw. I'm not a Matlab expert, but I agree the question is not really clear by itself (as required).
@toohonestforthissite closing and deleting the Q does the same thing (deleting the answer), but that doesn't tell the answerer in any way to not rip off comments
@πάνταῥεῖ FAQ states we moderate posts (so not only questions) and there are a couple things in there about answers. For example: Discussions about whether or not borderline answers warrant flags are allowed, as long as you are actually interested in a discussion and you aren't trying to coerce users into flagging.
@yivi Yeah. That's another thing: Personally, I prefer not to dupe-vote questions which are OT for another reason (and the dupe is, too). It avoids the dupe-chains which cause problems deleting the linked dupes. That's just my opinion, though.
@vega: I'm just eating the "Basque Chicken" - if it still counts as such, because I varied it a bit. It's good as expected.

@πάνταῥεῖ Individual moderators send the messages on behalf of the team... it's not like all 26 of us have to sign 'em off before hand... it use to include our names and show you who sent it but that was removed and replaced with a generic "Moderation Team" as people used it to harass mods both online and offline...
So, in other dog related antics, my dog got so scared by thunder this morning he tried to jump in the shower with me so he wouldn't be alone. It was really sad. I need to get him a thunder buddy
@Vega I used the DF cut bell pepper (just don't use the stripes, they tend to become very floppy once thawed). Variations are: Red wine (a dry Badener "Dornfelder") instead of white, I had no normal chlli flakes, so I used Chayenne powder. Finally: I added a larger piece of Feta (broke it into pieces in the pan. I also just added the ingredieces to the rest, I did not put the chicken aside. Served with rice: great.
@Vega Well, I'm aware it's a very different taste now, but I can easily imagine the original taste and I just had the Feta in the fridge. My local anitpasti-dealer has that tasty marinated Feta with oil, garlic, chillies and some herbs. The dish is more like a sauce now, but I really like it that way. Btw: you know Coq au vin? What's better, red or white wine?
@Vega Lol, I actually thought about Riesling for this one (a l'alsacienne). I've grilled (stove) chicken, but never cooked it so far. Hmm, seems Burgundry is inded the most classic variant.
@Vega Meh, I like the German wines. We expecially have some great white ones in my area. Not just Riesling (actually it's a bit too sour for me, unless it's a late vintage, or - better Icewine)
@FélixGagnon-Grenier Well, Feta is quite different from Gouda, etc. Try a "Harzer", it has <1% fat.
@FélixGagnon-Grenier Actually, if WP is correct, German "gouda" is not exactly the original. But normally, we use the original pronounciation for names, unless they have been "germanised" like "Portemonaie" for example.
@πάνταῥεῖ Nah, that will just eat all the cheese itself. We should use a BFG and melt it. With a bit of luck it can replace the meting ice - cheese does have a higher melting temperature than ice, does it?

I'd suggest Feistel cipher should be burned. Conceptual questions about the cipher are more appropriate for crypto.stackexchange. Programming questions can be tagged as encryption and/or cryptography (if appropriate).
In any case it has had only five questions in five years.
@toohonestforthissite I mean, we get ca. 100% of all traffic though google. Some bad Q/A ranking high in a reasonable search should definitely be gone.
@BaummitAugen It depends. If you know how to search, i.e. use good keywords, it works pretty well most of the time. But most people just can't even search for simple stuff reasonable. I think that's one reason so many questions are dupes. (another reasoon is lazyness and a spoon-feed-me attitude.
@toohonestforthissite If you are terrible at searching, nothing's gonna save you. But I still think we can at least contribute to make the site more useful for those who try.
Those who don't search at all and those who give up if the first query they came up does not yield an answer in the top 5 results are not really my concerns here.
@jww That you can/should ping an RO for removal is mentioned a couple of times in the FAQ. However, it's not really made clear that you should do that anytime that you no longer desire your request to be active. I'd intended to add a section describing it (and then reference that section where it's currently mentioned), but haven't gotten around to it.
Thanks @Makyen. That sounds like too much extra work. I don't think it is worth pursing. The FAQ might consider having a topic dedicated to "Cancel Request". The two keywords are "improve" and "cancel" to make it easy to find. I.e., "If a user improves their question then cancel a request by ...".
