@Yvette Sure you're answering the question? Doesn't the code in the question look up some key in some properties file and default to a value, instead of hard-coding?

@Yvette no, that doesn't solve it, you skipped a complete layer of indirection and those properties sit in a resource file, which is editable at runtime

your code will need a recompile when you want to change any of their values

@rene A project I have contracted on finishing, a rewrite of a wordpress site, which grabs all the wordpress style and js links and basically copies and pastes the page layouts, some of the shared layouts are just copies of all this wordpress stuff

@rene LOL yes! just copy all the source code from the browser, add layout null and use the existing php to post everything. They even do a search of the db by creating repos using xml!!! Instead of directly querying the db
