SO Close Vote Reviewers

At least in my case, if I absolutely need to copy&paste code from SO, it's because either the answer takes a long time to discover naturally, or is out of my field of expertise - in which case I'd attribute it not only for recognition, but for a note for future devs (or myself)

The problem is that really, most code on SO both cannot be licensed, and should not be licensed. Excluding of course full programs.

@Drew Exactly. But 99 times out of 100, I glance at the answer to get a quick reason for the problem, and solve it myself. It's rare to copy + paste code (since it probably wouldn't even work)... and in any case, if you need to copy and paste it's probably in your best interests to keep a link so you can remind yourself and others why you had to copy + paste

@Drew I'm really conflicted about the change. Most of me thinks it's bad. But at the same time, the license is so broad, that it means any reasonable person who is explicitly copy + pasting full solutions should know that they should probably provide attribution. For answers like you quoted, there's no way someone could prove the answer was plagiarized (is that even the right term?) and thus it's irrelevant

In the comments it becomes apparent that the poster fundamentally does not understand the function of the keyword async. Explaining why the answer is correct would then take the question into 'too broad' territory

To me the 'simple typo' close reason treads the line of 'fundamental misunderstanding of programming/language in question'

While an answer might be helpful, it's very unlikely that you'll actually help the poster in the long run - as they'll come back with another trivial answered-many-times-before question

There is a reason that the too localised reason was replaced with the typo or not reproducible reason, and that "a problem that can no longer be reproduced" and "a simple typographical error" are in bold.

@kyll On one hand, it will be useful to every new developer. On the other hand it's 1) not searchable (compilers very rarely give useful information about a missing colon) 2) it will pop up multiple times a day and 3) SO isn't a tutor website

so as I said, I wouldn't close it personally, but I still think it's on the verge of a bad question

in my mind, if running the code through the html or css validator is going to point to the exact error and following the suggestion provided by said validator fixes the problem, thats a typo.
