Yeah, but generally closing of canonical questions is discouraged. They are meant to be overly broad for a reason.

The question itself isn't asking for an off-site resource, it is asking about how to use an off-site resource.

Which, while overly broad (that's the point of a canonical question), it isn't an off-site resource request.

It might be a candidate for a histo-lock, because it is really broad.

But we aren't supposed to close questions as dupes of closed question, that just sends a really bad message.

I just submitted a flag:

We have had trouble in the past when this room is associated with the closure of those types of questions. No one likes their canonical dupe target closed.

@WaiHaLee I've never heard that before. But I can see how it could be a possibility.

Although that answer isn't really a link-only answer. It is an answer all on its own without the link. But, seeing as no one reviews correctly in the LQPRQ, it will probably be deleted there anyway.

Could you link to answers instead of the user?

It doesn't really look like fixing typos. Nor does it look like dupe-spotting. I'd say that it isn't very suspicious.

Typographical errors are not the same thing as including an extra variable.

As for the users being the same for questions and answers, that could be coworkers. I admit it isn't exactly screaming honesty, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions either.

The user asking the questions look like they should have enough experience to not be asking such basic questions....
