@Tschallacka BTW, Zagreb was on Forbes top 20 list of safest destinations in Europe (after the earthquake)... I wonder what are they smoking... basically, it is far from safe to move around center and old town and half of museums and other places worth visiting are closed because of the damage.

So like putting in a big blue edit button what every can use on a users closed post with the result that when users do cosmetic edits, the posts are never reopened and when the user makes they own valuable edits, they've lost the change of the free ride to the reopen queue - kind of useless pampering? :)

@Tschallacka whole Croatia is pretty much the same as far as all those are concerned including covid... the greatest outbreaks we had were in nursing homes, nuns in one monastery and night clubs (if you don't party, it is safe)

@Scratte, That's a technical topic that has nothing to do with pandering to gender/race/religion/orientation/etc....
But yes, that's something else I don't like either. Unfortunately, I don't think there is much that moderators can do about that except complain on meta and hope that that part of the system is eventually fixed by SE somehow/someday. I've had my own good posts (well... one) disappear into oblivion because of that.

But on the topic of pandering to minorities. It's pretty easy to avoid that as a user here. No one knows if I'm part of any minority.. because I just don't have to tell anyone and no one can see it.

I could be 16 or 90 years old. It doesn't make a difference here. The only thing that makes a difference is my conduct and contribution. I wish more would take advantage of it and recognize that nobody actually knows anything unless it's explicitly mentioned.

@Scratte, Are you familiar with the recent policy on neo-speak pronouns? Did you see the recent StackExchange post on 'fighting racism'? None of this has anything to do with this site, its core missions, and what it delivers to the world. And it can be dangerously counter-productive. If I am elected to be a moderator, I won't be a part of that.

Fortunately, nowhere in the moderator's agreement does it say a moderator has to implement or enforce potentially offensive (to minorities) policies. But that may be a matter of interpretation....

@Jean-FrançoisFabre, Again, that's not pandering. That's a blanket policy that has nothing to do with race/gender/religion/orientation. It might in particular cases descend to that specific level. But that's coincidental.
