Wondering what -45 reputation could be for, because I can't find anything anywhere with that specific amount. It says "removed" next to a question I answered, but doesn't have any more detail. What does that mean?

All posts should start at 1000 score. Positivity all around. The downvote button is replaced by a prayer button to ask the gods for a vision about what the post is about (if it's unclear) or to ask them to smite the author (if it's a not useful advice). Close voting is replaced with clothes voting to decide what their best outfit is and make them happy.

Q: Should we edit old git answers changing "master" to "main"?

Using GitHub, forgetting that there was a name change from master to main is causing me headaches over and over. (I think it was an utterly pointless.) Old answers still have master as default GitHub branch; should we change these to main, when we encounter them?

Weirdly, I didn't like the master branch before. But for technical reasons. I prefer having only a develop as a main branch, instead of two parallel ones in master/main and develop. Releases just get tagged when develop is stable.

", funny you say that, today I accidentally made a PR at work directly to master rather than through develop, because honestly, PR into dev then into master is a total waste of time when the thing in question was in prod before it was even in source control

we have a, eh, place that has a whole lot of apps in it, and not one bit of it is version controlled

I made an effort to move it into git years ago, and it was... well, not good

We... don't have much of a process in place, we're not really a software company, i just like making my life easier

it's the kind of situation where you can't work on your own copy of the code

because to do so would mean having an entire server replicated just for your branch
