This is an Angular PrimeNG Calendar question that I had posted. Is it possible to manually set the Calendar Time HH: MM: SS drop down? This is not the form field value but rather I need to be able to manually set the drop downs when things changed.

I still think 90% of typescript, javascript and all it's libraries and frameworks errors would be completely nonexistent if Javascript simply had the option to be STATICALLY TYPED!

@Paulo-Krg Static typing is better but not a silver bullet. Python is statically typed yet it has similar problems. Less of them and the error messages tend to be more helpful but the nature of the problems is the same.

@OlegValteriswithUkraine i came here today looking to ask "How do I trigger a function when document.getElementsByClassName('sendbtn')[0].disable changes from true to false" but upon seeing your message, I'd probably just read for a few hours on DOM Mutations and things like that, and if nothing works, change the approach.

@MisterGeeky btw, you can safely ask it here :) chat is much more freeform - it's the treating of the library of knowledge like a helpdesk that is pissing me (and many other established contributors) off

you will likely need a MutationObserver listening to attribute changes on the target element

chat is more like a help desk than SO Main is. things are far less formal here and nothing posted here is meant to contribute to the repository of knowledge that is SO's Q&A area.

ideally in your case you'd just hook in to whatever is changing the button's disabled property

speaking of mutation observers, when compared to asking "please convert this for me because I am too lazy to learn it myself", it looks like a reasonable question. Maybe a duplicate of a hypothetical "how do I listen for an attribute change on an element?", but it can be a valuable contribution if written well. We don't generally treat RTFM questions badly provided they are good questions (and if you see any such - flag it).

and what @KevinB said, it'll probably be much easier to just hook into what is changing the attribute (provided you are in control of that - of course, there are a lot of cases where you aren't)

Hello guys

I've got a question about storing a numerical data on a database, let it be MySQL or MongoDB server, and I need to update this numerical data each second.

Every user will have this data, and there will be an increment amount for that data. You can think of that as this: User A has 10000 woods and user's production is 3600 woods per hour, this means that I need to update user's current wood data by 1 each second.

I think that having a cron job like approch is best for this, but I can't update every user's data each second like that, because it can be very inefficient. What do you guys think about it?

if the increment is steady, you can store a value and a timestamp then simply calculate the current value based on time since timestamp.

No need to constantly update the database with a calculatable value

yeah. I use dark mode, so when the IDE happily lit up like a rainbow, it wasn't a very pleasant surprise. I wish things that change appearance would be off by default instead of making me waste my time by reading the changelog, finding the thing, updating settings, checking that it works, and only then being able to live normally

Q: vscode bracket pairs changed colors with v1.67

I was trying out Swagger for Go. But somehow in Visual Studio Code it changed the colors. Before I installed Swagger the braces and brackets were not pink, yellow or blue. I tried already uninstalling Swagger and Vscode but this didn't help. Any suggestions? EDIT: I'm using this golang implement...

I do not know who needs their bracket pairs colorized, but even if it has to exist, I do not get the idea behind making it the new default. Object literals look incredibly moronic when colored

its the way of making the design they want the mainstream one, by force. sure, we can disable it, but now all new users of vscode will see it that way by default and just get used to it

Yeah, that's standard practice, I guess. Just that I would like to see the reasoning for having brackets colored in an IDE. I used to have trouble determining paired brackets the first month or so of me programming before I reaned about not writing deeply nested blocks, loops, etc. and use abstractions properly

{foo: {bar: "foobar"}} shouldn't have two different colored brackets

neither should foo(bar())

Not to mention that in dark mode it looks like a platoon of clowns descended on the IDE. And I have no idea why some are yellow, some are purple, and some are blue - and have no intention to add yet another mental strain on my head...

And I agree that semantically identical brackets should be colored... identically

I have two fields in a pdf form. When I input in the first field, the second field should get filled with the same data automatically on keypress. Unfortunately Acrobat DC has mouse events only by default. So I added the below code. But it's not working on keypress event. Can anyone please guide me?

that's what that code would normally do, i'd suspect you're running into a limitation of your environment.

it looks like it calls something on focus event being dispatched

so you just need to figure out what it is

@user3079987 NP - I don't know what it is in Acrobat, but there has to be something. Since you get the value updated after you put the cursor, it means that something is called on focus event. Just find what it is, and you should be all good
