@Crow I've seen it used to handle input from the leap motion controller, so it can't be a stretch to get it to handle midi. Might need a browser plugin though

basically LEDs carry a current based on what light it sees.

it isn't much, but you can read it

photo diodes are what you would really want too use

but you can get away with just LEDs

for detecting colours i'm using a RGB LED and a photoresistor

to programmers that may sound badass, but it would be like an engineer telling you he was using loops and variables to make his counter work.
