Ugh... There's this Repwhore in the SO Close Vote Review room... He's been told dime and time again not to answer obvious dupes. Yet he answers questions that ask how to assing a value to an input element with jQuery. Worst of all, those answers get easy upvotes.
half sarcasm, because I really won't give a fuck about your arguments to not use it. I know the side effects and when I need to use it I'm fine using it and won't stop.
My biggest peeve, even bigger than nubs using jquery, is when people use alert for debugging. The new guy at my last job did it, and kept doing it after I told him not to.

"blocking the internet" insinuates that they block all access to the internet, like North Korea does. Filtering out the internet and search results is not the same thing.
