What the hell EmberJS: I name a property "state" and it conflicts with some built-in property that I can't find documented. I change the name to "currentState" and it blows up with some arbitrary error. I change the name to "asdfad" and it works just fine.

I'm trying to create an alias to delete a local branch and also delete it from a specified remote. But never created an alias that's anymore complicated than co = git checkout so I'm struggling
Hey folks -- what would be the safest way to get a branch (pre_prod) to equal master? should I just git checkout pre_prod && git merge master or is there a better way?
@Billy You're not gaining anything by continuing this conversation; I promise you. Accept that the jokes aren't meant to be insulting to you, and move on.
@Prefix Then, yeah. git reset --hard master, (with your branch checked out) is my suggestion. (Possibly followed by git clean -fd to clean up untracked files)
so say I have a commit (A), and the next commit (B) reverted the changes made by A. Now in commit C, I want to re-apply A. Can I hand-select a commit to apply?

Yes and I appreciate that. I don't appreciate being misrepresented. The only suggestion that could actually achieve what I wanted to achieve was the bash alias. I'm not sure how to do that but I may look into it as a last resort
The other suggestions where "don't delete your branches" - which obviously isn't an option. And "namespace your branches" which I'm not entirely sure what it means but can guess and doesn't do what I wanted to do
