Has anyone here worked on a calendar in javascript?

I don't want to build a calendar of my own but I need to customize it a lot. I need to render a calendar on the client's end and populate it with events being fetched through a restful api using backbone.js

If you want to learn, don't build something so complicated right off. Try something from Project Euler to familiarize yourself with the language.

Ok. I have solved around 50+ problems on Project Euler using C++ though.

Solve them with JavaScript. That'll teach you a lot more than a calendar app.
