and when you just want to spin up as many threads as possible, like when raytracing or doing a genetic algorithm or something, you get as many as the device will allow

@OliverSchöning you could use 1 worker with a function thats just something like function (start, end) { sum = 0; for (var i = start; i < end; i += 1) { sum += 1 };

put that in a worker thread and then post a message to that worker with start = 1 and end = 1000000

or you could split 1-1000000 into chunks, say 1-125000, 125001-250000 etc etc, and pass each of those to a seperate worker

and then just sum the result on the main thread
