so far I'm using the provider model so I made a provider widget available to the context of various sections of the app and the views can retrieve data and call functions on that provider, similar to props yes
but it only triggers renders when the provider notifies the listeners
we were able to fix it by paying careful attention to the re-renders and state management but it's nice to ignore that kinda stuff and just do it the simple/easy way
