@TristanWiley a lot of times, if you are lacking a credit history but don't necessarily have bad credit, and a good job, a lot of places will give you a card just with a low limit. I got chase freedom with a $500 limit and upped it to $2500 in the first year
I'm hoping to increase my limit with the card I have now at my bank. But I have to wait until it's been 180 days (6 months) and it's only been 5 months. Gah.
