I don't really get phased by death too often, but this one in particular has rocked me a little bit.. just so.. shocking. Tossing this out there in case he's listening somehow, wherever he is.. but a year (and a bit) ago when I first showed up here, me and cM didn't overly get along too well or like each other THAT much, but we've really come a lot closer since then. It brought me joy to find common ground with him and expand what friendship we could from that.
I never knew him as well as some of you have in here, but I think we can all agree that he was a spectacular coder, and a great person. Rest in peace, brother.
I can't imagine losing my father at that age (I'm actually not exactly sure how old they are, but since he was just 39 I have to imagine pretty young still)
@JBis Honestly I would have been worried that they wouldn't have accepted my quiz any longer since they were already running through the answers and I sat there and didn't say anything and proceeded to get 100% on it.. so I would have announced that I hadn't finished yet, or potentially would have finished and tried to slip my test back into the middle of the turnin pile
Would have played it by ear depending on the teacher and how clueless they are
The fact they were running through answers while people were taking the quiz still though means probably pretty fucking clueless
If I knew I'd get away with it I would have just copied their answers down and slipped my test into the middle of the pile
But if there was a shadow of doubt that they wouldn't accept my test, or it wasn't possible to do that, then I'd call them out so I don't auto get an F
We had a limited number of places in my school. Seeing lazy idiots fumbling their way in by cheating, then dropping out of boredom and taking a spot in the process...
What's the difference between me taking a picture of an answer and sneaking off the bathroom to look at it and me studying that answer to write it down and forget it instantly after I leave the test
engineering physics I had 42 hours of class per week, then a weekly assignment in each of my 6 courses, on top of labs for most of them as well, it was just .. retarded
nothing killed my interest in physics more than taking engineering physics
@Taseer If you give them the answer outside of the test, it's helping, not cheating. If you would do so, then it's only fair they can still count on you during the test. Therefore, helping, not cheating :P
but to be fair, most people in engineering physics were keeeeeeen AS FUCK and the difference between an 80% and 100% in a course like that is literally 10-fold amount of time spent (or more)
yeah engineering was a royal pain in my ass, and after about 4 years of doing it I decided I didn't want to do it anymore, so kinda put myself through hell for nothing but no regerts
You know all the time you had to make your teacher think you had the answer, even if you did not? Welp, guess what, it's a super useful skill to have for your boss
Now for any past or future employer, or client reading this. I am not admitting any form of guilt here at all, I obviously have never done such a thing, but merely an example.
@ballBreaker I think a better example, that I consider ethical, would be lying to a client to convince them to make the right decision rather than having them get pissed at you later for doing what they told you to do.
I think through incompetence the DNC has just done everything possible to make democrats disillusioned and to appear like they're republicans pretending to promote liberal policies to get elected.
i'll be totally honest, the DNC (and RNC) are unfair and shouldn't exist. It just so happens, this election year, their unfairness benefits the candidate I support.

Yeah the big picture changing is what excited me about bernie and made me start to actually care and follow it a bit, but I'm realizing that I'm just setting my self up for heartbreak on something that won't even fundamentally change my life at all
I thought bernie absolutely crushed it on tuesday because the only top posts hitting r/politics were his, but based on downvote/upvote pushing things to the front page, obviously people aren't upvoting Biden winning
so it ended up looking like Bernie absolutely cleaned up
@ballBreaker I almost hope he creates a new political party to run if he has to. It would probably guarantee Trump the election, but it would probably end up being a real political party.
I mean... I doubt he was really expecting to win. I'm not sure what his intentions were, but he'll probably make 10x that from getting someone elected by taking votes from someone else.
Or even if he did intend to win the primary, it was likely to ensure Trump stayed in office.
I made a little comment above when I found out, but me and him didn't really see eye-to-eye and didn't get along too well at the start but got a lot closer as time went on, and that meant a lot to me
