@MarkO'Sullivan finally was able to run the app (flutter hello world). I switched to IntelliJ IDE and also had to set a few environment variables as well. But some times on AS the device was detected and some times it was not ( randomly)

@Raghunandan that seems odd. I noticed a weird issue last night when deploying an update to my internal testing flutter app, the apk build command didn't work until flutter clean

I never tried with Android Studio because I didn't want it clogged up

Our client, a broadcasting group, purchased a new news station. This station already had a mobile app, so we were going to update it with our app obviously to match their suite of apps. I got the package name and everything, and I go to publish the update, and I realize they never gave me the keystore for this app. So, once again, I was blocked from updating because I didn't have a keystore. Only this time it actually wasn't my fault.
