@Sebastian because textarea is not an empty tag and it's value come from what is contained within the tag itself unlike INPUT which takes it's value from the value attribute

Shared hosting is for a front page, a contact form and free email addresses. If you're running an application don't complain about shared hosting. Get real hosting.
