Can someone help me with the sql to remove a link table? I have table a, table b and table c. Table a has an id, table b has an id and table c is a one to one link table from a to b that needs to be refactored into table a, so the foreign key exists there and table c is removed completely.
but mysql can use varchar as a foreign key, right?

Anybody knows how to integrate Wordpress 3.0.1 and the bbPress 1.0.I just want to install bbPress with my previous Wordpress site (Url : mysite.com).I just want to install it on mysite.com/forum . I just tried doing it by creating a folder and installing bbPress there,( I skipped the wordpress integration ). Whne I tried to log onto the bbPress,it just throwed a hell lot of warnings saying function deprecated.
@Richa I'm not sure why, I think maybe its because theres a very short learning curve to start using php. Its an easy language to get started upon thats why alot of people just learn the basics of php and start coding with nary a care to go into the deeper features and power that the language has to happen, also I think it must also be an open source thing.
@Vili: You cannot namespace variables, for that you'll have to use class constants or global constants.
@Vili: Either declare const x inside \a\b or access $x through $GLOBALS
On a side not, what exactly is the purpose of this chat?
For example - what Vili is dealing with could've easily been a question on SO and he probably would've gotten an answer way quicker. Is this even the right place to discuss such topics - if so, who is moderating this?
I think that's the point where the virtues of Copy & Paste come into play.
The trouble with trying to add a button in the user interface that generates a question is that informative chat messages tend to be spread across multiple clicks of the "Send" button.
There could be, but all it could do is copy/paste one message. You'd still have to do all the creation yourself. And again, if your entire question fit into a single chat question you could have asked it originally. The more likely scenario is that through a long discussion the need to ask a question has emerged.
that's a good point... but what should I do if I or somebody find my question SO-worth, but someone answered it here? I know the answer, why would I bother asking it on SO?

@Brad Thanks!Well so far I have found out that development of bbPress has been stopped by Wordpress,that's the reason why it is saying function deprecated.Though I the conclusion is like latest wordpress is not compatible with bbPress's last version!
I used to like bbPress, but internally it's the same mess as WordPress.
Recently I've been walking the no-framework path discussed by Rasmus Lerdorf toys.lerdorf.com/archives/… Anybody here who wants to share some wisdom in this regard?
lousy in that code is copy-pasted everywhere instead of refactored, there is no separation of concerns, UI, business logic, and data access are all smushed into one
and since PHP is so easy to use and deploy, often you'll see ridiculous code because the original "programmer" wasn't really a programmer and just muddled through

You won't be able to create a true real-time application. AJAX/PHP will let you poll data at regular intervals, but it's not possible to push data directly to your web app
For Comet you need a "Comet Server". node.js can act as this server. If you prefer PHP, check phpdaemon (link above). phpdaemon runs in daemon mode. do u know what does it mean?
If im only going to grab one column from a query, is there a easier way than making a query in an variable, and then make a variable for the fetch_array and then finally use the "msg" column doing the unlink() ?
