@bwoebi Yeah, it's pretty horrible. I think with saner (non-mysqlnd) architecture it could be a lot simpler in C as well ^^

@NikiC if your password is empty you can actually just skip the auth and just append a NULL byte in the handshake

@Girgias How did you know? :) Slowly, but I'm working again on the initonly stuff. I'm not that efficient these days though, since mental tiredness after the 8.0 craze and being in the middle of a break-up severely limits my focus :/
