And honestly, I'd much rather see the occasional function with an unnecessary goto than deeply nested class hierarchies or Design Patterns thrown in just for the fun of it. Design Patterns can easily make your code way more obscure than a simple goto.
The reason why the thing is stretched out is because of the way I did the page. It's set at 93% so it varies by screen resolution. Which again is only because I did this for myself, not really for everyone to use or see.

@MartinJames Oh I have been ignoring that poor sod for about an hour now. Never even clicked the entry from the main page. EXC_BAD_ACCESS tells me enough. If they know what that even means, they'd choose a different title.
I can't imagine why I'd need to post a question related to that, but I can see myself using it on the title ("reading from file is EXC_BAD_ACCESSing").
