So, where am I wrong: you have 3 cases: 1) we have 2 equal digits; 2) we have 3; 3) we have 4. In the first case we can "place" 2 equal numbers in 6 different ways, therefore (10 * 6) possibilities, foreach of these possibilities we have 2 remaining slots in which we have 9 * 8 possible permutations. (ergo: 10 * 6 * 9 * 8).

For the second and third case the reasoning is similar (we have 4 possible ways or arrange 3 equal digits and 1 possible way to arrange 4 equal digits).

Leading to: 10 * 6 * 9 * 8 + 4 * 10 * 9 + 1 * 10.

But apparently I'm off of 270.
