ifdefs, commented out code, obsolete comments is all "noise" that contributes to a low signal-to-noise ratio.

I don't have those but I do use a lot of vertical whitespace: allman style and two newlines between between sections and function bodies. Perhaps the whitespace would be considered noisy by some.

I guess my code has a lot of white noise.
