@Rapptz I wouldn't bet a lot on that. Regardless of what they've announced, I'd say you can pretty much bet that when it's released, the price on the XB1 will be competitive with the PS 4. They might drop the price before release, or they might wait until the initial rush is over, but in the long run MS isn't going to price themselves out of the market.

Alternatively, they might take the strategy of keeping the higher price for the "normal" version, but bundle more -- $100 worth of time online + $100 in games, for example.

I did fall though ... we were kind of ~~lost~~ exploring after dark, to find the cave where we were supposed to camping in.

I stepped on something I thought was grass, but it was empty below (no solid ground beneath the grass).

Luckily it was only a metre deep

and was cushioned by the grass/bush

Not to complain overmuch, but (okay, complaining a little, anyway) I wrote an accurate (and somewhat thorough) answer about performance in C++. Meanwhile, Paxdiablo took a stance that was apparently popular, but ultimately wrong. After filtering out the utterly wrong parts, his whole answer boils down to what I covered in the first sentence or two -- but his answer still got (literally) ten times as many upvotes as mine! Somehow seems wrong...

@Rapptz Of course it does -- it started out dead wrong (assuming microseconds for C++ and milliseconds for JS). Only later, he added on the part at the end, showing that with optimization turned on the C++ version was roughly equal to the JS version.

I don't care much one way or the other about JS, but since he apparently cares about performance of C++, though it'd be interesting to show at least some of what can be done to improve it, in this case with relatively minimal modification to the code (primarily loop unrolling).

It doesn't matter at all. If you multiply by 1000/CLOCKS_PER_SEC you get milliseconds, period.

Pax was assuming that CLOCKS_PER_SEC == 1_000_000.
