If a developer (of mpdf.....) does; if ($htmlh['h']) would he be assuming it's equal to; if (strpos($htmlh, 'h') !== false)? I'm just trying to figure out why he did that since it literally does not work on any php version that i can think of (later than 5.0, i don't know about 4.x or earlier). It always generates a warning such as Illegal string offset 'h'. I'm asking because if i refactor it it might break other stuff if the control does not do what i think it is supposed to do.

@Wes not just this, a couple more. I am using couple of libraries which have some folders for only test purposes. Those folders have lot's of images . My project is ending up being + 50 MBs in stead of 1 or two :(

instead, suggest maintainers to move tests and samples to different repos

it's pretty nice.

it's low-level enough yet the compiler is painful enough that you can't do stupid stuff, and it almost feels like a memory-managed language

and the ecosystem is pretty nice, cargo means it's super easy to add new libraries and stuff, data structures and other niceties are not lacking

some things are awkward, and I think I need to read up on e.g. how to better manage errors

but overall, I like it

@JoeWatkins he's changing uniqid to use random_bytes rather than lcg. It improves overall randomness (by using cryptorandom instead of the flawed lcg), but introduces a potential BC issue. Also not a fan of his implementation

@DaveRandom uhhh, "predictable", this only concerns when the more_entropy flag is set, which in theory makes it unpredictable (ignoring weaknesses in the lcg)

he's using random_bytes_throw, if for some reason the process can't access /dev/urandom (rare) it'll now throw an exception. Also there is a byte of uniqid with more_entropy set that is always "0", this changes that (I know, probably inconsequential)

I guess I'm also a little annoyed, because he always does this :/
