If you're unable to understand the tools you are using and end up with shit unoptimised code you have no one to blame but yourself, the tools are indifferent to your opinion

Also, a lot more often than not, you don't get to pick your tools
It relates to tools that should not be used in new projects in 2015, it relates to how our developers, specifically the young ones, are educated and which tools they would pick

@rlemon exactly - we have 200 devs spread cross the world and they come and go project based - part of our tech is custom made - every single new dev has to waste time on learning that
@MadaraUchiha animations, adds new selectors, adds simplified events, adds however slight IoC (arguable, but if used right can), keeps people from writing their own utils or poking at mine trying to 'improve them', offers about 20 other small utilities like position() that I don't use often, but when I need them they are there. At the end of the day I use jQuery for front end work code because it does allow me to author the code faster. and I think we can all agree I have no problem with vanilla.
@rlemon CSS3, non standard selectors are the devil, SIMPLIFIED?! LOL, IoC in a DOM abstraction lib?, nothing wrong with people writing their own utils or using lightweight versions of whatever's out there, those are abstractions you can write, most of your code time is spent thinking, not writing. You don't save much.
@MadaraUchiha CSS3 animations are not as robust, which is why libs for js animation exist. non-standard selectors are not the devil to me, you can continue to keep your mindset there. yes, events get simplified. there is problem with 9 maintainers writing their own methods or arguing over it, you can't tell me how much I save vs don't save now can you :P
you are clearly bias here, that is cool. jQuery is used wrong all the fucking time. I hated on it for that reason a lot.. but I can't deny that it does offer gains in the areas I've already mentioned.

Is it possible to give an img tag a name attribute (something like this: name="test[]"), and then submit it within a form, and then with PHP read the variable to somehow get the src of the image tag?
If you don't want the checkbox hack. only issue is removing focus
@BigRabbit make a hidden form field and populate it with the src using js and submit that, or use js to augment the data being sent and just add in your src values
@rlemon I will have multiple images on a page with descriptions, and I need each images src values, so I can "update" a db if any changes were made. So I guess I could populate a hidden form field with each img src (with PHP), and submit that...yeah? MY js skills are weak(unfortunately) so I am trying to avoid handling anything with it.
Well, how/why would I handle this with js? I have each src value in PHP and output them to my img tags, so I could just also output the same values into hidden form fields. Then when I submit my form, I can just read the src values from $_POST and use them in my query to update each img, is there an issue with this?

i guess my point is: we havent learned anything from our animated flaming skulls days. yes, the web was shit back then, but today we have a different kind of shit.
no one cares about progressive enhancement (you know, where javascript is the tiny sprinkles that make things nicer, not your entire goddamn cake and fuckyou if your browser doesnt support it).
If that's really what you want to do, I would still advise you to download the sts and see what plugins have been installed, then try to install those in normal eclipse
