I work at a medium-sized company, but the software group is quite small and most of the company does something different. I develop on retail products that are delivered to an internal customer and sold in 'shrink wrap'. My view is that the big glaring obstacle to progress is timewasting in between initial pitch of product ideas and actually writing the features, but nobody takes any notice when I try to bring it up
