but href="#" doesn't do anything

technically it does. Its a hash.

href="#some-section" will jump the the section on the page with the id some-section.

but what if someone just has href="#"

It just seems generic. I could easily find 10 WP themes on themeforest that had a similar style.

@mikedidthis you know what the folder that i have this design is called? it's called "multi-purpose-web-theme"

I think you go one of two ways with theme. 1) Be unique and have a purpose 2) Be generic and include a tonne of options.

@ShadyManaa yeah, I kinda imagined it was. In that case I would make sure the theme is as flexible as possible.

@mikedidthis i am not sure if i could code it myself. but i'm willing to sell its PSD

@ShadyManaa then I would include as many variations as possible. Maybe look at the PSD section and see what the competition goes with.
