basically app is like will keep on logging data in background as well untill explicitely stopped

It is difficult to say what may be the problem, you should use MAT, it simply tells you the memory consumed by each and every variable

that new compat library changed several things many new attributes (which caused multiple conflicts with other plugins) and the interna changed havily which is now a huge problem for me, because I hacked the actionbar in the preferences screen for gingerbread

one really annoying thing is that they changed some behavior regarding to the tabs in the actionbar I cannot see my labels right now
