From the source of that control: Drawable d = a.getDrawable(R.styleable.CheckedTextView_checkMark); they use that style which I customized no idea why that does not work

oh fuck I have an idea

I changed the style so far no problem, but I need to override my dialog style too

hm only the font has changed :(
