i have a jQuery function in master page that sets a label's text , then when the child page loads it changes the text right back to nothing

also , from "master page" i am guessing that you are using asp.net in some capacity

ok, I am guessing I have to write a function in child page, and need to pass the content into the functinon in the child page

and I saw this example

I need to do the opposite , and like child. .... , but I'm not sure how to write that

if you are using javascript in any capacity to change the label , then the page has already loaded

yea, the page is fully jquery, but it is still asp.net so it goes through that whole like 10 stage loading process

well, you'd think, but actually I think the master page loaded, changed the label, then the child page loads

is it via XHR or full page reload

asp.net is kinda weird , you don't actually master then child through code, you load the child, which inherits the master, so asp.net automatically loads the master then child all on its own

anyway , there are to possible reason for your issue :

If you load master page, then load child - the master will load again when you load child

- the act of loading child page overwrites that <label> tags , via innerHTML

@GiovanniDiToro You can use iframe inside the tab and set the form's action to the iframe's id. You need to create a page which will be displayed inside the iframe and will also handle your requests.

@DyapaSrikanth You have to learn AJAX from api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax Then use the serializing method and send the value in a single parameter say allValues. Then in php (or server side) use php.net/manual/en/function.json-decode.php to obtain the result object

If Type(x) is Number, then
    If x is NaN, return false.
    If y is NaN, return false.

So if any operand is NaN, the result is false
