@benlevywebdesign inside the handler function, e.keyCode refers to which key was pressed.

See which is esc, and act accordingly.

If I have multiple ajax calls being processed at the same time, and each different ajax call uses variables with the same name to process the responses, could that cause problems in how each response is processed? Or do all the variables have scope within each ajax call and are not accessible outside their specific ajax call?

It's OK :) I solved it! I'd been a bit stupid and put a number in the second parameter of the for loop and not a condition xD
