I used to sell machine vision cameras like 15 years and there was some OCR in there

I hated every second of every encounter with that thing

well, tesseract needs to be trained on fonts to work at it's best. Also all ocr needs clean straight text. de-skewed and all

anywho.. tesseract is good out of the box for most standard fonts, but it ONLY reads text. It will make a mess of a big form and turn it into all text.

so you typically chop it up and pass it in a part at a time

@Luggage An example probably helps more: the use case is that I have n number of text boxes. Whenever a text box moves, it should find all text boxes on a similar x/y coordinate. If it is within threshold pixels of that x or y coordinate, it should "snap" to the same position on the x or y plane. A site that does it would be like befunky
