when you use a package, you give a package name and a function to the package manager, then it calls your function with whatever the package returns as exports

Structural question: I have a cache of all created streams back to the server. I want to create a new stream (with certain connection options). How can I check if I've already created a stream with those options?

but I think tonight my goal will be to figure out how to 1) do better colour comparison. need to learn more about colour space. 2) figure out how to do a 'best match' after I have the images. so if I have 100 images (finite) I can 'best match them' and not need to just keep looking for images until I find a match
