video is really just an image that flips frames

do you think youtube does that live? i don't think so. The most sensible way would be to do it on the server after it is uploaded

you load the video - then you just think of the video tag like an image. you literally just draw it to the canvas element - the canvas element will hold the snapshot from the point you drew it @BrandonGelfand

@Neal it is no point for discussion (because frankly watching you try to justify your actions some times is painful) - you ask questions you know the answer to, but you also know they will get high votes - you may not mean to do it for "rep farming" but that is what you are doing.
