Anyone can tell why the faded image swap is not working properly in this header: www.ipallares.com ?
In FF I get a resize effect pretty annoying whereas in chrome when orginial image is faded out its display becomes void and so images after it get moved

so the 'faded out' element no longer is in the document flow - and the new image takes a blip of a second to load - ergo the jumping

also the entire concept I think is bad.

I see....any workaround to avoid it? Would it be possible to start fading in right before the original image has totally faded out so this does not happen?

you are changing src values when it is faded out

I would layer the new image behind it, fade out the previous image. then there is no 'fade in' it is a 'fade to'

so if you have foo.jpg and you want to change it to bar.jpg -
load bar.jpg behind foo.jpg, then fade out foo.jpg - when it is faded to nothing - remove it.

randomly the image swap is done after fadout/fadein (well actually fadeTo=>fadeTo)

Why does this happen if I am using the "complete" function callback in fadeTo method? Why this happens sometimes and sometimes not?

I've had a corrective experience today. Met up with two AI programmers for some field testing, and after talking with them and running some tests, I realized something...they were very, very nice.

Not only that, they weren't elitist, or show-offs, or anything like that! And then I realized something else. The only reason I had the image of the angry, pissed off programmer in my head was of all the programmers who had to deal with non-programmers (sysadmins, IT, people like us...).

But they didn't have to go through any of that, they're CV people - they deal with images.
