Yes, stores in localStorage. Not full proof, but easily transferable. It doesn't greet who ever's a mod/owner, not in js room or was seen before. Should there be a rep limit as well?

And of course, it treats those who were in the room when it logged in as "seen before"

I'm using EventSource. Neither the 'close' nor the 'error' events are firing but the Network tab is showing that the request was cancelled.

I would expect the close event to fire if the response is cancelled or fails.

But I don't really know what the alternative to chunking is...

Java/C# functions can only be encapsulated my methods (anonymous functions don't count here). In js, there may be several sources for this variable, and greater ambiguity.
