what is introductory language. I dont make sense on JS alert('Hello, world!'); compared with Java. Its different, JS might simpliest to intro the simple logic, but Java could simple than JS when things goes complicated.

IMO, python is a good introductory language

@RaghavSood For an intro programming course, popularity of the language in industry should not even be a consideration. Or at most a very minor one. Ease of teaching and learning programming concepts should be the most important thing.

As the article points out, Java's Hello, World is pretty complex and can be baffling to s beginner.

introductory language doesn't need to be useful in production, its goals are very different — to allow someone quickly grok important programming concepts while not developing bad taste
and I still don't see anything better than Scheme for this purpose, because it's simple (absolute minimum of things *in language* to memorize to start going anywhere) and expressive enough. and it's also used SICP

If colleges went with ideal for learning languages instead, I'd be much happier

well, the language itself is very simple. literals, list, quotes, identifiers — that's all
(maybe also some syntax for macros, I don't remember them)
and some identifiers may have special meaning which is used when executing code, but the syntax is the same.

so there isn't such thing as learning the language, it can be learned in 5 minutes literally

other is memorizing some built-in functions and macros (when they start being necessary), and actually coding something

exception after activity orientation changed.

After orientation changed, dialogfragment still exist on screen(not sure why), and cant be called dismiss.(or exception thrown)

I have googled many time with different keyword still not found solution.
Can you help me?

Dharmendra - I live using the theory that 80% of the population are in fact surplus. They bring no economic, cultural or spiritual gains to humanity. I don't believe they should be part of the work force and instead replaced by automation and only work if they really want to.
