Hmm, from what I know, some people just add a layer to translate DirectX 11 language to OpenGL API.

Which of course, will add a layer of complexity.

That is if they initially write the games with DirectX API.

(i.e. Windows games, which I assume Civ 5 is)

But the newer games that are written in modern game engines should have their compiler to each graphic cards.

Btw, I heard games written in DirectX 12 is crazy fast.

Because apparently DirectX 12 can utilise more than 1 GPU core and can use more than 1 CPU core simultaneously.

It's a bit like OpenCL.

Hmm, to developers those things should be invisible.

e.g. if you write triangle(0, 0, 0) in a modern game engine, you wouldn't have any idea what it's gonna compile down to.

It's like you get something 1,000 times as fast but right now has to pay 900 times the normal price.

hello All, I am downloading images from server and storing it in app documents folder as image@2x.png with resolution of 1920*1080

and I am setting it to the background of my all views, using a global image variable

I am one image which is inside the project called test@2x.png

which of resolution 640*1136

I set this image with function [UIImage imageNamed:@""];

and one which I download from server and stored in apps document folder are set as [UIImage imageWithContentsofFile:fileName]

So when I switch from server downloaded image to the image inside my app, it doesnot set it

I am totally confused what is going wrong

actually its like a wallpaper which gets set to the background of whole app

so I have a View where user can select images

once user selects it, I am setting to the global image variable

and then in each VC, the backGroundImage is set based on the globalimage variable

this is the logic i am follwing

so when I switch from server downloaded image to the image which is added to my project, it doesnt work

I do that: 'dateFormatter.stringFromDate(NSDate())' send it over the net and then I do the following on the other device: '((dateFormatter.dateFromString(message["StartDate"] as! String))!.timeIntervalSinceDate(NSDate()))' and I always get a negative value where is the mistake? because timeIntervalSinceDate returns a negative value if the date is in the future...

but " " would result in a printed space or?

What type of shitty error is this? Snapshotting a view that has not been rendered results in an empty snapshot. Ensure your view has been rendered at least once before snapshotting or snapshot after screen updates.

I am confused with something. I know with app revenue through sales and In app purchase Apple takes 30% cut but what about the sponsored ads we see on Twitter, Facebook etc. Is there any policy regarding that like how much Apple takes from it or Apple does not take a cut from those sponsored ads?

I got an Objective-C question

I have a class with a property (strong). I then have 2 view controllers which are subclasses of that class. One of those is also used as a superclass. The controller which subclasses that class, the property is always nil

the other view controller it is not. why?

I would assume it doesn't matter how far you have superclasses right?

Seems like it just doesn't like this 1 class

yup. I moved addSubview and adding constraints to the first subclass viewDidLoad instead of init, works as expected
